Detailed description of Blackstone Golf Club
Blackstone Golf Club is a Semi=Private 18-hole golf course located in Marengo, Illinois. Blackstone Golf Club is accessible to everyone in the Chicagoland area, located just 3 minutes North of I-90 on Route 20.
The Blackstone Golf Course opened for play in 2006. The course was designed by Bob Lohmann.
Set on 250 acres of spectacular rolling hills, environmentally protected wetlands, and forests of century-old Oak and Hickory, Blackstone Golf Club is a full-service facility. Featuring over 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands, the lush bentgrass fairways and greens of Blackstone Golf Club meander through some of the most distinctive natural landscape of any course in the Chicagoland area. And although it can stretch out to a total of 6,734 yards, Blackstone features 4 sets of tees to suit golfers of all skill levels and plays to a very manageable 4,932 yards at its shortest.
The seasoned golfer will find challenge in avoiding the 54 sand bunkers that designer Bob Lohmann calls “strategically placed†and “pretty bold with… irregular edges,†while the more novice golfer will enjoy the spectacular visual setting with generous fairways.
With 9 holes stretching through dense forests of Oak and Hickory and unique, enthralling wetlands coming into play on 13 holes, the views are as beautiful as the course is demanding!

This has been one of my favorite courses since it opened in he last few years. With a good choice of tees, it justifies whatever slope is applicable. We played it yesterday (July 11th),and the conditions were near-perfect. Like most courses, accurate driving is a must to score well. Greens are undulated and yesterday they were FAST. Traps had better sand than many other courses in the area. Pro shop is somewhat small but adequate. Staff is helpful and always friendly. My group (8-12 players) is always happy to play here.

Excellent value and the greens were very nice. We played in August and they were running a 12.5 - but rolled true. The staff was very good, and I look forward to playing this track again. I would highly recommend it. The course is very easy to get to from any Chicagoland location.

Outstanding track. Ths was my second time playing it this season. My only drawback was the speed of the greens. This time they told us the greens were running 12, way too slick imo for most players. Earlier in the season I played Blackstone and the greens were slower and more to my liking. On both trips the greens really held approach shots very well.Its a bargain during the week and they have a Senior Rate that can't be beat. We live an hour away and its worth the trip

Blackstone is not near anything - but that's part of the charm. It takes a drive to get there, but well worth it when you arrive. Very challenging layout, lots of trouble if you don't keep it straight. The course goes from wide open spaces to wooded areas - and it is a different course if the wind is blowing. The greens are true, but super fast. Best course around, and at $75/round in prime time, definitely worth the price.
